Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Audio Visual and Lighting (AVL) Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the Audio/Visual/Lighting aspects of church events, worship services, and special programs in conjunction with the pastoral leadership and musicians while providing technical support and troubleshooting as necessary.
ResponsibilitiesRESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in Staff Meetings, Worship Planning Meetings, and Worship Committee Meetings as directed by the Senior Pastor.
- Recruits, trains, schedules, and supervises paid staff and volunteers to fulfill the following roles: a) Sanctuary Sound Board Operator, b) Control Room Audio Recording Operator, c) Control Room Video Recording & Streaming Operator, and d) Fellowship Hall Sound Booth Operators.
- Prepares the equipment operating/training instructions and manuals for the above functions. Conducts on-going training and Skill Level Assessment for all AVL staff and volunteer operators.
- Creates and compiles the graphics for contemporary service and online worship streams, overseeing the production design and process used for recording and live-streaming services and events.
- Sets up microphones and other AVL equipment for all services and events.
- Edits the audio/video recording of services to produce sermon/service for posting on VIMEO and the church website.
- Edits memorial services and other sanctuary events for posting on the FPC web site and /or production of recordings as needed.
- Evaluates current AVL capabilities in light of emerging technology and trends, making recommendations to the Senior Pastor and relevant church committees when appropriate.
- Ensures that all current AVL equipment and software are properly maintained and updated to ensure reliable performance.
- Prepares and manages the annual budget accounts for the AVL Department in collaboration with the Worship Committee.
- Builds positive social dynamics and relationships with the pastors, worship team, and volunteers.
- Orders supplies and coordinates equipment needs with the Church Administrator.
Experience
A successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in audio visual direction or a related field.
- Strong technical knowledge with understanding of audio/visual/lighting optimization and placement.
- Some familiarity with online streaming and video production.
- Experience with presentation software (such as Pro-Presenter) or ability to learn quickly.
- A commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects of work.
