Position Description
We are seeking an organized and detailed-oriented Church Secretary to join our staff. The candidate will ensure the smooth operation of our church office, providing essential administrative support for all committees, staff and members of the congregation. This position requires communication and computer skills that include Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Constant Contact, and familiarity with internet/social media operations. Must be flexible and have the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Must demonstrate positive and helpful people skills, working with kindness and tact toward all people.
Responsibilities
- All general office work that involves the print communication of the church. Prepare weekly worship bulletins, PowerPoint slides, newsletters, prayer lists, mailings, and a master calendar of church activities and facility use. Check and respond to phone messages and emails daily. Greet visitors who come to the church door.
- Assist the staff and Property Committee in scheduling the use of church facilities.
- Prepare and print updated church directories. Place orders for office supplies and other items as needed throughout the year. Assist in maintaining church records and compiling an annual report.
- Provide additional materials and assistance for seasonal worship services, funerals and weddings.
- Maintain and follow security procedures.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
