What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Technician position at First Priority Manufacturing?
Job summary
This is an entry laboratory position, it will include sample pulling, document evaluation, testing of raw materials, finished products, the environment and coordinating with other departments and third party vendors and laboratories.
Job Duties (Including but not limited too)
- Manage time effectively to assure testing is completed in a timely manner, and that quality control, and customer service departments are well informed of testing requirements.
- Maintaining an organized process for re-certification of raw materials.
- Development of models for identification and potency using Grams, and Indico Pro software.
- Development of expiration date methods, and testing protocols along with data for supporting these methods.
- Maintaining all environmental testing as outlined by quality control
- Researching and keeping actuate records for all NSM raw materials.
- Maintaining and creating raw material specifications and testing protocols.
- Communicating with third party laboratories, setting up tests, timelines, and inquiring about costs
- Approve in-process production, and finished products by confirming specifications and/or laboratory testing results
- Aiding supervisors in plant sanitation practices and the control of production room releases
- Performing laboratory testing including microbial, identification, heavy metals, potency etc.
- Performing analytical chemistry with use of ICP-MS and HPLC Agilent testing systems.
Minimum requirements
- Communication skills; both written and verbal
- Mathematical ability includes fractions, ratios, and dilutions.
- Basic computer skills
- Organization
- Strong documentation skills
- Problem solving skills
Abilities required
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to maintain a safe environment when working with chemicals and pathogens
- Must be able to wear proper PPE at all times(i.e. lab coat, latex gloves, mask, hair net)
- Willing to help in other departments when needed
