Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Electrical Control Systems Engineer. As a key member of our controls group, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex control systems and software programming on production equipment and machinery.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing control systems, electrical component selection, and approval processes
- Collaborating with internal teams, including controls technicians, project engineers, maintenance personnel, OEMs, vendors, and contractors
- Leading/supporting internal controls technicians and project engineers to design, install, and interface new equipment and process controls
- Specifying DCS's, PLC's, HMI's, servo systems, motors, drives, sensors, vision sensors, and data collection and analysis software based on company standards criteria
- Providing technical guidance and support to colleagues and stakeholders
Requirements
To excel in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum 4 years of industrial controls experience, advanced knowledge of electrical theory, and principles of operation
- Personal computer skills, including specific controls programming software and basic email, word processing, spreadsheet applications, and project management software
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Able to create and modify schematic drawings using AutoCAD software
- Familiarity with machine manufacturers and vendors to design and build the best equipment for the application
- Leadership abilities, including directing OEMs, vendors, and technicians to accomplish goals in a timely manner
