What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst II - General Accounting position at First Quality?
Purpose and role of job:
Responsible for transactional and analytical support for general accounting and financial reporting processes, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and accounting/financial projects as assigned.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supporting monthly close activities, including creation and entry of all general ledger journal entries and timely drafting of financial statements and related schedules.
- Responsible for balance sheet reconciliations.
- Responsible for the preparation, coordination and documentation of financial analysis projects such as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, and working capital.
- Participates in intercompany initiatives to enhance financial reporting, strengthen standardization of financial processes, and enhance policy documentation and internal controls.
- Provides analysis for forward-looking financial and business-related projects. Prepares budgets/forecasts and analysis of trends in manufacturing, sales, finance, general business conditions, and other related areas.
- Provide financial support and analytics to a wide range of individuals and departments throughout the organization.
- Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project or leads projects.
- Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
Education and experience requirements:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- MBA, CPA, and/or CMA preferred, but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in ERP systems such as SAP.
- Knowledge of US GAAP basic principles and elements of internal controls.
- Understanding of manufacturing accounting environment.
