HVAC Technician

Purpose and role of job :

Responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment necessary for the building's operation. Ensures that HVAC systems are kept in good repair. Develops and maintains a preventative maintenance program for Facilities HVAC Systems.

Hours :

Monday- Friday 7am-3pm flexible

Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities :

• Performs repairs to air conditioning system as required and sees to the general maintenance of the system.
• Performs tests on water systems tied in with HVAC.
• Maintains and performs preventative maintenance on controls and related equipment; adjusts and calibrates the equipment when necessary.
• Responds to complaints regarding HVAC equipment and adjusts or repairs when necessary.
• Performs all repairs on pumps, compressors, and centrifugal equipment.
• Performs minor electrical and pipefitting repairs to HVAC systems.
• Performs refrigerant recover when necessary.
• Serves as electrician in repairing minor electrical malfunctions.
• Returns to work when a major problem with HVAC equipment is encountered on off-shifts or weekends.
• Tests, maintains, and evaluates equipment performance using voltmeters, ohmmeters, and pressure gauges.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervision
