What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Specialist position at First Quality?
We are seeking an Inventory Specialist for our First Quality Baby Products location in Macon, GA . The primary purpose of the role is assisting the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure that all warehouse functions are executed in a consistent manner in compliance with warehouse policy and procedure and ensuring the daily integrity of the inventory and housekeeping of the warehouse operation.
Principal Responsibilities include :
- Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.
- Follows necessary GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations / guidelines.
- Conducts cycle counting.
- Verifies all shipping and receiving documents.
- Assists the Supervisor / Group Leader in managing quality-control systems, which includes training personnel, monitoring compliance with procedures and troubleshooting problems, to include providing key input for formal appraisals.
- Assists the Group Leader in creating Bill of Ladings, and in-bound and out-bound trafficking.
- Conducts audits of incoming materials as requested.
- Participates in monthly, quarterly, and annual physical inventories.
- Conducts inventory variance research.
- Assists Group Leader in monitoring overage, shortage and damage issues.
- Assists Group Leader in monitoring finish goods, raw materials, and fill cartons inventory to include outside warehouses.
- Assists with the training of other employees.
- Monitors housekeeping in all areas of the plant and directs efforts to maintain excellent housekeeping.
- Operates the radio frequency equipment to conduct inventory movements, barcode scanning, and physical inventories.
- Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so.
- Stores product in accordance with warehouse policies and procedures.
- Inspects all equipment used on a daily basis and report defects to Management.
- Supports production lines with material requests.
- Assists with repack and labeling operations when necessary
