We are seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to join our team in North Central Pennsylvania. This position will be responsible for specifying, designing, implementing, and upgrading complex controls systems and software programming on production equipment and associated machinery.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical theory and principles of operation, as well as advanced knowledge of PLC-based hardware and software, servo control, and HMI. They will also have experience with mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and formal training in functional machine safety and proper safe machine design through safety risk assessment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams, maintenance personnel, and OEMs to design, install, commission, and start up new equipment and process controls.
- Specify and/or design DCS's, PLC's, HMI's, servo systems, motors, drives, sensors, vision sensors, and data collection systems based on First Quality controls standards criteria.
- Evaluate electrical equipment from multiple sources and recommend the best solution for use.
- Assess, design, and make complex program modifications in DCS's, PLC logic, HMI programs, and servo controller logic to improve individual equipment and overall system performance.
- Perform high-level troubleshooting, in-depth critical thinking, and utilize all internal & external resources to solve any electrical, mechanical, or process problem.
