What are the responsibilities and job description for the Software Engineer Intern - 2024 position at First Resonance?
First Resonance is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join our team this summer at our headquarters in Los Angeles, CA and to help revolutionize next generation manufacturing software with ION. As a Software Engineering Intern, you will be responsible for writing clean, scalable, and maintainable code across the stack. You will work closely with our engineering team to deliver exceptional features with a keen focus on user experience and performance. You will actively engage in daily stand-ups, planning sessions, and review meetings to foster collaboration and support the growth and success of our fellow engineers.
Things you will do:
- Write clean, scalable, and easily maintainable code across the stack
- Deliver exceptional features with a keen focus on user experience and performance
- Actively engage in daily stand-ups, planning sessions, and review meetings to foster collaboration
- Nurture growth and success by supporting fellow engineers
- Drive continuous optimization of application performance and refine team processes
Skills you will develop:
- Proficiency in front-end and back-end programming languages
- Experience with API development and consumption
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks, libraries, and build tools
- Solid understanding of relational databases and Object Relational Mapping libraries
- Hands-on experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms
Helpful skills / background:
- Experience shipping production quality code in React and Python
- Expertise with Typescript, GraphQL, Apollo Client, Postgres, and SQLAlchemy
- Experience working in distributed/cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP) with a CI/CD process
- A background in building enterprise applications or working in a manufacturing environment
Qualifications
Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in an engineering, physics or math discipline by the start of employment
Able to work full time, onsite for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning mid June 2023
Able to work onsite at Downtown LA HQ for a minimum of 2-3 days per week
Must be a U.S. citizen
