Job Summary
Responsible for identifying training needs based on skills gap analyses, developing all employees (whether in a group setting or individually) based on learning styles. This will help First Resources Corp keep pace with changes in the industry. This position is essential in the overall success of the organization and requires high level of accountability. Responsible for increasing the company's productivity by teaching new skills and knowledge to employees, allowing them to reach their full potential. Manages a training budget. Works in conjunction with the Human Resources Director and the Chief Operating Officer. They will work closely with the Human Resources and Quality Assurance department, to assure agency compliance with Federal and State regulations pertaining to personnel matters.
Essential Functions (include, but not limited to):
- Identify training needs by evaluating strength and weakness.
- Build/create an annual training program and prepare teaching plans.
- Will oversee the Trainer and provide backup in facilitation of new hire orientation.
- Work closely with management and supervisors to assess the training needs of individual departments.
- Schedule training sessions to minimize disruption to normal working, while ensuring that employees achieve the levels of skill necessary for their jobs.
- Track and maintain CEU's database.
- Develop positive relationships with employees; promote direct communication and positive rapport between employees and supervisors. Build effective relationships with employees that will maximize an employee's likelihood of being successful, including building natural supports within the workplace.
- Assist with the research of employee relations practices necessary to maintain employee/employer relationships.
- Assist with the creating, communication and rollout of updated or new procedures and policies.
- Design programs using techniques such as classroom learning, demonstrations, one-on-one coaching, seminars, lectures, team exercises or online learning.
- Prepare hard copy training materials such as module summaries, videos and presentations.
- Track and maintain all training, certificates and reports and input data into the agency database.
- Evaluate the outcomes of training sessions and maintain records of trainees' progress and achievements.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Prefer a bachelor's degree in human services or related field, otherwise education with relevant experience will be considered.
- Prior two-years' experience in HR setting.
- Must have access to a telephone.
- Must possess basic knowledge of computers and computer-based programs.
- Knowledge of the latest corporate training techniques.
- Excellent presentation skills to present training programs.
- The ability to clearly communicate in oral and written fashion is required. Excellent customer service skills are essential.
