What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) position at First Response Medical Transport?
We are seeking Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT's) to join our dedicated team and provide immediate and professional medical care in non-emergency and emergency situations. As an EMT, you will be crucial in responding to calls, assessing patients' conditions, administering medical treatment (if needed), and safely transporting patients to the hospital. Responsibilities:
- Respond quickly to calls and provide timely medical care.
- Be able to perform essential life-saving techniques, including CPR and airway management.
- Assess patients' conditions and deliver appropriate medical treatments following established protocols.
- Operate and maintain medical equipment, such as oxygen tanks, and stretchers.
- Communicate effectively with other medical professionals and patients to ensure accurate information exchange and comfort.
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records, documenting treatments provided.
- Adhere to safety protocols during patient transportation.
- Be kind and courteous to patients and fellow staff.
Qualifications:
- EMT Certification in Pennsylvania, or National Registry (NREMT).
- Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record. (Must have a driver's license for at least two years.)
- Must possess and maintain current EVOC and CPR certification.
- Strong passion for helping others.
- Ability to remain calm, composed and focused in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members and patients.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols and procedures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sit and stand for extended periods.
- Walk, bend, squat, twist, reach, push, pull, and carry
- Physical stamina and strength to perform job duties, including lifting and moving patients. (Must be able to lift, push and pull 125 lbs. or more.)
