We are seeking a seasoned leader to join our team as Vice President of Operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to lead our operations, drive growth, and support America's food distribution system.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing senior operations leadership, fiscal planning, and resource allocation for our warehouse operations, fleet services, facilities management, transportation, and equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Counsel, lead, and support our operations leadership team and front-line associates.
- Analyze facility capacity and plan proactively to facilitate future growth.
- Lead compliance efforts with regulatory agencies, including OSHA, DOT, FDA, USDA, DOL, etc.
- Develop and direct contingency protocols to avoid business disruption in emergency situations.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Procurement to resolve customer or delivery issues.
- Continuously improve operational strategies and processes based on industry knowledge.
- Own the budget development process, managing labor costs, materials, goods, and services.
- Lead operational performance, adjusting activities to meet or exceed financial targets.
- Collaborate with Procurement and direct physical inventory processes to achieve cash flow and customer service goals.
- Support other departments in achieving financial and service goals.
- Participate in meetings to build customer relations and champion safety within the team.
- Ensure a safe work environment and adherence to Food Safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of relevant experience in food or grocery distribution. A strong track record of leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration is essential.
