Custodian

Position performs a variety of custodial duties necessary to keep buildings in clean and orderly condition which contribute to the efficient operation of the bank. Ensures all bank property is neat, clean, and ready for business daily.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Keep interior and/or exterior of buildings in clean and orderly condition and ensure all bank property is neat, clean, and ready for business daily.

Prepare and breakdown meeting rooms for bank staff meetings and special functions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of one year of similar or related experience.
• A high school diploma or GED is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

Position has limited interaction with others; however, all interaction with others must be conducted in a professional, courteous manner that enhances the overall efficiency and image of the bank.

Working knowledge of cleaning practices, procedures and techniques, and tools needed to perform job duties. Skill in the operation and/or use of tools and cleaning products used to perform job duties. Ability to effectively follow written and oral instructions and to work independently with little supervision.

Communicate Effectively: both verbally and in writing with others in a clear, thorough, and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques. Demonstrate soft phone skills by treating all internal and external customers in a polite and courteous manner.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work both indoors in climate controlled shared work area with moderate noise and outside in sometimes inclement weather.

The employee must be able to read, understand, and follow written instructions/directions, including those found on cleaning product labels.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to perform work on computer when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: The employee is constantly required to stand and walk. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
