What are the responsibilities and job description for the Treasury Specialist position at FIRST SERVICE CREDIT UNION?
Role:
To support financial management and operations of the credit union through maintenance of accounting records and reports. Performs a wide variety of advanced accounting work under minimum supervision.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Process daily files and exceptions from the ACH, Share Draft, Visa, ATM, Shared Branch, and other reconciliations as assigned. Use sound judgement in decision making when handling exception items. Occasional overtime is required, including weekends and some Non-Federal Reserve Bank Holidays.
Process domestic and international incoming and outgoing wires. Provide International Wire Disclosures as required by Reg E.
Provide support and assist the front line with daily member inquires as needed. Process check, Shared Branch, ACH, and ATM disputes as needed. Research other outages as needed.
Assist Cash Management with GL inquires or research as needed.
Performance Measurements:
1. To process and reconcile daily official check settlement, stop payments and requests for check copies and reconcile the corresponding GL account in a timely and accurate manner.
2. To prepare all reports within the prescribed time frame and with no errors.
3. To keep all assigned general ledger accounts current and in balance daily.
4. To troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly, and accurate manner.
5. To provide assistance to management with accounting related activities and budget preparation. To analyze company accounting data and develop recommendations on cost reductions and efficiencies.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education: A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills: Thorough working knowledge of accounting principles, compliance, and regulations.
Good analytical, interpersonal and telephone communication skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Must have a proactive attitude toward members, supervisor, co-workers, and the credit union.
