POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title : Community Development Specialist

Reporting To : Community Development Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of this position is to work with the Community Development Manager to discover, build, and maintain valuable relationships in the community, driving new Memberships and current membership retention (consumer and business) through education, presentations, and networking.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provide financial education outreach through a multitude of channels and settings.
- Ability to engage with an array of ages and learning abilities, from kindergarten through adulthood.
- Ability to present an array of financial literacy topics and customize as needed for particular audience / setting.
- Coordinate class, seminar, presentation, workshop schedules.
- Collaborate with credit union business units as needed to develop and deliver presentations and workshops.
- Responsible for referring credit union products and services by assessing needs and cross selling appropriate services where applicable.
- Maintain engagement records and perform follow-up on all interactions.
- Utilize Banzai, Enrich and other financial educational programs.
- Provide financial counseling to members when necessary.
- May perform on site account opening and loan applications.
- Provide insight and strategic assistance as needed for growth and expansion
- Develop and deepen strategic relationships in preparation for growth and expansion : Focus on building relationships with centers of influences, key decision makers and community leaders such as : key employers, political leaders and not for profits, by providing them and their employees with the resources necessary to support their financial wellbeing.
- Required to participate in First Source Federal Credit Union events as well as designated Community events.
- Represent the Credit Union as needed.
- Required to attend or participate in necessary compliance training, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy, OFAC, and Privacy.
- Required to attend training sessions as appropriate.
- Required to travel as needed.
- Required to work outside of normal business hours.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
