What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Specialist position at First Southern Bancorp Inc.?
Position Summary:
The Operations Specialist is responsible for providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers. This position provides various regular and recurring operational and accounting functions to support First Southern National Bank operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with reconciling and balancing general ledger accounts and other bank accounts.
- Assist with the development and system implementation of new bank products and services.
- Communicate with customers and branches to process all debit card disputes.
- Maintain knowledge of all procedures associated with all functions in the Operations Department.
- Draft new and update existing procedures to streamline operational functions as needed.
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service and assist in resolving problems within given authority.
- Comply with all laws and banking regulations, as applicable.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or another related field OR three to five years of related banking or accounting experience required.
- Proficient level of computer competency, including Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal, service, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Dependable and a quick learner.
