JOB DESCRIPTION
This position helps business, nonprofit, and consumer clients with their banking transactions and with the management of their financial resources by addressing questions, solving problems, identifying their needs, recommending the appropriate products and services based on those needs, selling the designated bank products the clients desire; or referring them to the appropriate individuals / departments who can fulfill their needs, as appropriate.
There is heavy contact via phone, in person, and through correspondence to develop and grow the organization's business, address clients' needs and questions, and process work. This position needs to be versatile and well versed in performing Vault Teller, Teller, new account opening and maintenance duties, and adept in client product fulfillment, referrals, and customer service.
Performance Standards / Competencies :
- Become a product expert on all deposit products, eBanking products, ancillary / convenience products, overdraft protection, etc.
- On a day-to-day basis, we educate our clients on products and services that may improve their financial health based on their life stage, their goals, etc.
- Inform clients about product promotions, new products, services, etc.
- Generate business and respond to all leads as quickly as possible professionally, via phone, or personally to grow new business.
- Participate in the organization's educational, product fulfillment, and referral initiatives.
- Perform any new account and product opening processes and procedures expeditiously and accurately.
- Help clients complete loan applications and maintain compliance with consumer loan rules and regulations.
- Accurately oversee and / or perform balancing of the ATM, cash drawers, gift cards, and "end of day" transactions (cash advances, coin machine, teller drawer, vault duties).
- Research and locate differences.
- Accurately make correcting entries on a timely basis.
- Communicate corrections / changes to the appropriate person / department.
- Work with the audit team when conducting audits.
- Handle all ordering and shipment from Thillens.
- Handle all teller cash requests and oversee the filling of change orders.
- Service clients quickly and ensure fluidity within the branch.
- Accept and process commercial, consumer, and nonprofit clients' checking and savings deposits.
- Cash checks and handle savings withdrawals.
- Accept mortgage, installment, commercial loan, overdraft protection payments, and line of credit payments and advances.
- Have a basic understanding and knowledge of all the key financial products and services and the business lines that offer them.
- Listen for opportunities to refer and deepen new and existing client relationships with products and services that may fulfill their needs from other business units.
