GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Originates consumer loans by interviewing loan applicants. Analyzes and screens preliminary loan requests on varied types of loans. Informs prospective borrower of loan commitment and reviews ongoing financial condition of borrower and status of lines of credit.
Primary duties include but not limited to:
- Make outbound calls to consumers as follow up to an inbound inquiry, follow up to existing applications or and completion of closing calls/coordination with consumers.
- Develop solid product knowledge: offer clients the best products that fit their needs. Create and maintain long-term relationships with our customers
- Work with customers and internal support staff to ensure the timely completion of each loan.
- Counsel consumers on various types of financing, choosing a program best suited to their needs; complete application, follow through to closing and resolve any problems while ensuring salability and compliance guidelines
- Empathetic approach; excellent telephone communications skills; demonstrated ability to overcome customer objections.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to set and achieve productivity goals
- Inform and confer with consumers on counter offers, navigating discussions on credit policy and product options and structure
- Individual must have a good work ethic and high integrity.
- Knowledge of key lending concepts necessary to counsel consumers on programs and prices
- Strong selling, presentation, and organizational skills are required, as is numeric aptitude and proficient PC skills.
· Follow Compliance Procedures Daily per Training Instructions
- Maintain private and confidential consumer and bank information
- Offer bank products and services to new and existing customers
- Occasional local tasks outside the office
- Have a good working knowledge of regulations. Stay up to date on changes to existing and new regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. BS Degree in Finance or a related subject is preferred. 0-3 years’ experience in lending or a related profession is preferred. Regular attendance and punctuality are important. This position requires good communication, computer, and keyboarding skills. Accuracy is necessary to successfully fulfill this position. Attention to detail, organizational skills, timeliness, and patience are involved when working with the public. This position requires continual training.
