First State Bank is looking for another Mortgage Loan Originator to add to our successful team!

Mortgage Originators at First State should be able to:
- Create and maintain a network of contacts to help foster relationships with new clients.
- Understand that their best referral source is a customer who has been “Wowed” by great service.
- Communicate in a friendly, professional manner in speaking and in writing.
- Interview applicants and complete loan applications, create disclosures, and obtain the required due diligence and supporting information as requested to underwrite and close the loan.
- Respond quickly to customer questions because of mortgage loan and general banking knowledge.
In addition to these important qualities, we are looking for someone who wants to continually improve themselves by participating in educational events or reading professional publications. We want someone who can demonstrate that they truly care about the communities First State Bank serves as it is the core of our existence.
Basic qualifications for this position are:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required based upon experience.
- Previous banking experience with emphasis in mortgage loan.
- Working knowledge of underwriting requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, USDA, and VA.
- Familiar with local, state and national laws relative to real estate (such as zoning ordinances, Truth in Lending, RESPA, etc.).
- Competent in the use of personal computer systems, internet applications, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to adhere to Bank Loan Policy and procedures.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
Physical Requirements Include:
- Ability to stay seated for long periods of time.
- Ability to transport self to various locations for client meetings and outside training.
