First State Bank is searching for an experienced customer service provider to fill a part-time opening at our Main Office in Middlebury, Indiana.
This position is part-time - Friday 8 am to 12:15 pm, Saturdays 8 am to 12:15 pm and some extended hours from time to time.
Our primary expectations of this position are:
- Provide the highest levels of quality service to customers while listening to them and finding the products to best fit their banking needs. When solving customer problems, be friendly, professional and responsive to their situation, explain solutions and next steps while building rapport and trust.
- Have a strong understanding of the features and benefits of all bank products and be able to explain how each product may meet the needs of the customer. Identify opportunities to refer customers to other areas for more complex services as identified through conversation during interaction.
- Process various transactions and open individual accounts as well as business accounts following bank procedures including CIP and Customer Due Diligence processes. Follow up with customers as needed by phone or by written contact.
- Maintain a professional appearance, as outlined in the Dress Code, a professional manner, and a neat and orderly work area at all times. First State Bank operates in a Business Casual work environment, but we expect employees to provide an outward appearance that exhibits professionalism.
Other responsibilities of this position include:
- Close accounts as requested
- Attend assigned training sessions and follow bank procedures and regulations
- Process transactions, deposits/withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, issue official bank checks by running teller window as needed
- Balance cash drawer within standards
Job Qualifications:
This position requires a High School Diploma or a GED
You must present a friendly personality, positive attitude and a professional image
You must have the ability to multi-task as well as maintain composure under pressure
You need to have Customer service and cash handling experience
You need to have good written and oral communication skills
You must be able to operate a computer, and preferably have some knowledge of MS Office
You should be able to work general equipment such as coin/currency counter, copy machine and fax
You must successfully complete in-house teller and new account training
Physical Requirements:
Generally good working conditions in a clean well lit environment. Must be able to lift and move coin filled bags up to 25lbs. May either sit or stand for long periods of time.
