We are looking for an Employee Benefits Team Manager focused on building relationships through amazing service and communication skills. Must have a passion for creating a top-notch employee experience for the accounting staff. The key to this position is a strong working relationship with all team members of First State Insurance Agency.
Responsibilities in Accordance with Our Corporate Values
The Employee Benefits Team Manager will serve as the leader of employee benefits, working with agency personnel to ensure continuity, efficiency, and organic growth for the entire department.
Professionalism
- Exemplify and promote corporate Values, Mission, and Vision.
- Foster collaboration between support staff and producers to support organizational, regional, and individual producer’s production and renewal retention goals.
- Train, coach, & delegate activities to the benefits support staff, while overseeing their performance. Meet regularly with individuals and the team to discuss/document performance and growth opportunities.
Accountability
- Assist in the strategic planning, budgeting and profitability of the employee benefits department and attend FSIA department/Board meetings as requested.
- Research, develop, and monitor the compliance with FSIA procedures, processes, and auditing standards. Collaborate with agency leadership to influence best practices among the staff.
- Manage an assigned book of business, and as needed assist within the organization to help ensure timeliness of renewals and quotes
Initiative
- Oversee carrier contracts, carrier relations, marketing, carrier goals, incentives, and contingency plans. Keep all information properly updated in FSIA files.
- Approve salary changes and promotions of Benefits Team. Support the growth and development of the support staff, assignment of responsibilities, and messaging of the regional strategic goals.
- Recommend training for Benefits, L&H Account Managers, and Producers on various product lines, coverage, websites, software, etc.
Adaptability
- Attend and provide input at Agency-wide staff meeting and appropriate department meetings
- All other job duties assigned by FSB Board and FSIA Board and/or as assigned by President.

Qualifications
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Punctual with a strong attendance history
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
- 10 years of industry specific experience preferred, large group and self-funded
- Must possess and maintain Life and Health insurance license
- Must obtain and maintain professional designation relevant to the position
