Job Summary: The Deposit Services Specialist supports the growth and retention of First State’s core deposit relationships by actively engaging with current and prospective customers, promoting deposit products, and delivering personalized service experiences. This role combines product knowledge with strategic outreach to build lasting relationships and expand access to deposit solutions. The Specialist independently manages a customer pipeline, exercises discretion in assessing customer needs, and tailors recommendations that align with both individual goals and bank priorities. Operating with minimal supervision, this role works both independently and collaboratively to support deposit growth initiatives and contribute to the overall success of First State’s retail banking strategy.
Essential Functions:
Job Specific:
- Independently seek and evaluate new customer relationships to drive growth in First State’s core deposit accounts, exercising judgment in prioritizing prospects and refining engagement strategies to improve conversion outcomes.
- Present, promote, and match deposit products and services to the needs of existing and prospective customers.
- Conduct needs-based conversations to guide individuals and businesses toward suitable deposit solutions, referring to internal departments or specialists when broader needs are identified.
- Establish, develop, and maintain a personal portfolio of deposit relationships, promoting specialized services such as Insured Cash Sweep (ICS) and Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service (CDARS).
- Engage leads through personalized outreach, including referrals and proactive contact strategies.
- Serve as a knowledgeable and trusted ambassador of First State’s deposit products and their benefits.
- Actively participate in outreach initiatives, including attending community events, seminars, and conferences to expand awareness and engagement with First State’s deposit offerings.
- Manage a centralized database to accurately track prospects, outreach activity, and deposit pipeline progress.
- Leverage data insights to refine engagement strategies, personalize follow-up efforts, and improve account conversion rates.
- Collaborate with the marketing department to provide strategic input on campaign design and independently execute personalized outreach aligned with campaign objectives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging, aligned service delivery, and continuous product education.
- Work closely with the President to report on sales strategy, performance, and goal attainment.
- Develop and manage a personal plan to meet or exceed defined goals and support First State’s deposit growth objectives.
- Maintain subject matter expertise in deposit products through ongoing professional development and strategic collaboration with the Chief Customer Officer.
- Maintain a strong understanding of consumer and business deposit products, ensuring First State’s offerings remain relevant and competitive.
- Support fellow team members and contribute to a positive, service-oriented team environment.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support First State’s deposit services strategy.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in retail banking, customer relationship management, or sales-oriented roles strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of consumer and business deposit products, including interest-bearing accounts, ICS, and CDARS, highly valued.
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently in both individual and group settings.
- Valid motor vehicle driver’s license required.
Physical Demands:
- Engage in routine physical activities such as walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to read reports and use a computer effectively.
- Lift and carry items up to 30 pounds daily, including file boxes and office supplies.
Work Environment:
- Primarily indoors in an environmentally controlled setting.
- Occasional travel by car to visit other company locations may be required.
- Flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work to achieve established goals.
