We are hiring a full-time Eligibility Specialist in Salt Lake City, Utah!!
The Eligibility Specialist is responsible for ensuring clients are funded prior admission and during treatment. The Eligibility Specialist supports the admissions team by serving as an expert on Medicaid and other funding sources for First Step House and works to ensure that client eligibility is determined prior to admission into any FSH substance use disorder program. This position requires a high attention to detail and strict adherence to deadlines, as clients must maintain benefits to continue receiving services. The Eligibility Specialist must also have the technical ability to work with various programs including databases, word processing programs, and spreadsheets. The overall goals of this position are to (a) ensure all FSH clients have appropriate funding throughout the duration of treatment, (b) build and maintain positive relationships with clients and outside agencies.

- Pay Rate $54,000 - $61,000 per year
- Monday - Friday flexible hours

Education and Experience
- General understanding of Utah Medicaid and eligibility processes for various insurance
- Previous experience with public funding mechanisms, Medicaid, and private insurance is required
Duties include but not limited to:
- Complete verification of benefits (VOB) prior to admissions
- Serve as an expert on ARCAPP/DWS requirements to admissions team and other staff
- Act as a liaison between clients and ARCAPP
- Liaising with case management team in coordaining ongoing benefit maintenance
- Working with clients to obtain necessary documentation to secure medical and SNAP benefits
- Ensure client's review dates are accurately logged in system and reviews are being completed
- Review DWS applications prior to submission
- Follow each application until approval
- Collaborate and consult with supervisors, treatment-team members, community partners, and other relevant parties concerning eligibility issues to gain resolution
- Other duties as assigned
