Afternoon Preschool Assistant Teacher

We need a reliable, energetic assistant teacher to join our small close knit team! Applicant MUST have or be able to obtain their 45 hours of state mandated hours for this position within 1 year of employment (please do not apply if you cannot meet this qualification).

We are looking for someone who is a team player, flexible, loves to learn, teach and inspire children as well as keep the center clean and organized! We are a small preschool for ages 2-5. This position would involve floating between classrooms to assist where needed. Roughly 8 hours a week. Perfect for a college student or someone just wanting an easy, fun part time job.

Job Type: Part-time

Experience not required; just need a willingness to learn

Availability: Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:30 am - 2:30 pm required with another flexible day or two.

Education: HS diploma, 45 DCF hrs, CDA certificate or higher preferred

Applicant must also be able to obtain Level II background screening prior to employment. Must be available roughly 8 hours a week to start with potential for additional hours. This position is perfect for qualified college students or qualified mothers, as we follow the St. Lucie County school calendar and close for summers and holidays.

Position starts asap through the end of May. Renewable each school year as we resume in August.

Pay based on education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.
• Assist in keeping a clean, safe, nurturing environment for children.
• Support the development of children's social, emotional, and cognitive skills through interactive play and structured activities.
• Communicate effectively with Director.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week

Schedule:

• Day shift
• No nights
• No weekends
