Job Summary
Occupational therapy assistants collaborate with occupational therapists to develop and carry out a treatment plan for each patient. Occupational therapy assistants also may work with people who have learning disabilities, teaching them skills that allow them to be more independent.
Assistants monitor activities to make sure that patients and parents are doing them correctly. They record the patient's progress and provide feedback to the occupational therapist so that the therapist can change the treatment plan if the patient is not getting the desired results.
Maintains positive level of interaction with facilities and clients. Maintain good client relations with facilities and their staff. This job requires that therapist provide services at daycare's, school and homes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conducts patient's treatment goals, and reports to OTR for revision of treatment plan when indicated.
- Discusses treatment plan with patient to establish expectations and communicates treatment plan with support staff.
- Provide OT therapy services (treatment) to the patients.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Florida COTA license
- Sensory Integration
- Pediatric experience
- Ability to physically assist patients in performing functional tasks and therapeutic exercises
- Level II fingerprinting background
- CPR
