First Steps Nursing and Therapy is looking to hire a Registered Occupational Therapist to provide in Home Therapy Services to children in San Antonio, Texas and the surrounding areas.

Job Summary:
The therapist is a qualified professional person who directs, supervises, evaluates and provides therapy services to patients in the home as prescribed by the attending physician.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- One (1) full year of work experience preferred
- Licensure or certification by the state of Texas as a Certified Occupational Therapist
- Pediatric and home health experience is preferred (not required)
Some of the Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct evaluations and complete evaluation reports in timely manner
- Plan activities and provide occupational therapy services
- Record type of treatment and patient’s reaction to it on clinical/progress notes and incorporated in the patient’s record weekly.
- Maintain adequate records on all patient’s, including summary reports
- Utilize community resources and Agency personnel for proper referral
- Attend case conferences as requested
- Participate in staff development activities and in-service education as requested
- Confirm, on a weekly basis, the scheduling of visits with the Therapy Coordinator to coordinate necessary visits with other personnel
- Participate with staff, patient, and physician in discharge planning activities
