Title: Quality Assurance Nurse
Report to: Director of Nurses
Job Summary: Under general direction, provides quality assurance of nursing staff and appropriateness of the care provided. Ensure systematic review and analysis of the clinical practices and documentation, identifying potential and actual adverse events, as well as assisting with follow up on employee/patient incidents, ultimately ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, standards, and regulations. This position is in office Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm.
Qualification:
Education: Graduate of an accredited school, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
Licensure: Current Texas State Licensure as a Licensed Nurse, current Driver's License or Identification Card Minimum of two professional references. that meet the standards of First Steps Nursing & Therapy Services.
Experience: Minimum 12 months experience in the previous 36 months as a Licensed Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse, in a clinical care setting preferred; home health preferred. ·
Skills: Current CPR accredited by American Heart Association and American Red Cross issued for the PROFESSIONAL RESCUER/HEALTHCARE PROVIDER or other approved accredited sources approved by the Director or Administrator. Successful completion of appropriate screening tests with minimum score 75%. Must read, write, and speak English. Must be able to comply with all policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook. Ability to train and supervise staff.
Transportation: Reliable transportation, valid and current auto liability insurance (if driving patients).
Environmental and Working Conditions: Work in an office setting with the possibility of working in a patient's home in various conditions; possible exposure to blood and bodily fluids and infectious diseases; ability to work flexible schedule; ability to travel local; some exposure to unpleasant weather; PRN emergency call.
