Description : POSITION SUMMARY
Medical Assistant / CNAs are responsible for the shift-by-shift supervision of the resident milieu and attending to resident's essential needs while on detoxification and residential protocols. Essential Functions :
- Assisting with admissions of residents including orientation, intake assessment, urine screen, medication management, protocols and recurring assessments, secure search / storage of personal property.
- Assist Physicians While they are conducting rounds.
- Adherence to JCAHO and state resident care standards.
- Communicating with physician, entering physician orders, and following physician orders in overseeing resident medication management.
- Proficient documentation in KIPU Systems resident management software.
- Documenting residents' daily progress.
- Establishing a consistent presence and awareness of resident behavior.
- Enforcing policies and procedures.
- Maintaining cleanliness of facility.
- Facilitating program activities and maintaining resident schedules.
- Delegation of necessary tasks to behavioral health technicians and fulfilling behavioral health technicians' duties as needed.
- Recurring assessment, interaction, observation, and documentation of residents.
- Communicating thoroughly and accurately verbally and via shift notes to ensure continuity of high quality of care.
- Participation in shift change with LVN / BHT.
- Crisis Intervention.
- Conducting resident discharge / transition, returning resident personal items, logging, and following destruction of medication procedures, coordinating resident transportation and continuity of care with next level of care environment and / or facility.
- Completion of Survey Monkey shiftily check list.
- Accepting feedback and direction from the Physician
- Other duties as assigned by management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed during day and night shifts primarily in residential detox facilities. This includes work in facility office as well as the grounds of the entire facility including upstairs resident rooms, clinical office, and laundry room that are accessed via staircase, and outdoor grounds. Technicians periodically drive residents in company vehicles for intakes / discharges at other treatment facilities and transportation hubs, to doctor appointments, to outings and recovery meetings. Work is often performed in emergency and stressful situations.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate in other situations.
BLOOD / FLUID EXPOSURE RISK :
Some job tasks involve exposure to blood, body fluids and / or tissue. Staff must wear gloves and follow infectious control procedures when interacting with residents in conditions in which exposure is possible such as handling onsite urinary analysis, conducting first aid, and conducting search of resident’s belonging and person. Staff may be exposed to infectious diseases, needles, and illicit substances during searches.
Work Schedule :
As a non-exempt hourly employee, the employee shall work a designated schedule as assigned by management.
Employees shall not work over 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week without prior authorization from management but if so, will earn overtime for any work performed more than 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Employees must also follow the company’s policies regarding required meals and breaks.
