We are hiring an Accounting Clerk to join our Finance team at First Student, the leader in school transportation services.
What You’ll Do
As an Accounting Clerk, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of monthly billing processes. Your key duties will include:
Preparing and reviewing customer invoices based on contract specifications.
Communicating with location personnel to verify billing details.
Reviewing customer contracts to identify billable services.
Creating and updating Excel-based billing models for routes, shuttles, and trips.
Reconciling invoices and supporting revenue variance reviews.
Maintaining the Fixed Asset register and assisting with other accounting tasks as needed.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred).
Experience: 2-3 years in accounting or billing, especially with service contracts.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, including complex formulas and file linking.
Additional Skills:
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with bookkeeping practices and transportation services is a plus.
