What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Mechanic Professional position at First Student?
At First Student, we take pride in safely transporting millions of students and passengers each day. As a Transportation Maintenance Expert, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of our fleet of vehicles, including Ford, Chevy, Collins, Thomas, Internationals, Freightliners, Bluebirds, Micro Birds, GMC, and Starcraft. Your day will include performing maintenance on brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions, as well as troubleshooting issues needing repair work.
What We Offer
- A competitive hourly wage ranging from $23 to $28 per union contract, based on experience and qualifications
- $0.25/ASE per hour for each relevant ASE certification
- A Monday-to-Friday schedule with flexible shift options (5:00 am - 1:30 pm or 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm)

Requirements
- 3 years of experience working with automotive, diesel, electric, or CNG vehicles
- A valid driver's license and willingness to obtain a CDL (we'll provide training)
- A mechanic's tool set
