About the Role
As a Diesel Mechanic at First Student, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of students who rely on us for transportation. We are seeking an experienced Technician to join our team, serving Jefferson Parish.
We offer a competitive salary of $29.61 per hour, based on experience and qualifications, as well as benefits such as health insurance, 401k with company matching, paid vacations, and holidays. Additionally, we provide ASE incentive of $0.25/hour for each relevant ASE obtained, Monday-Friday full-time shift, annual allowances for boots and prescription safety glasses, and state-of-the-art training programs.
About the Job
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance on brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions, completing work orders, and assisting with mobile emergency services. Our Mechanics and technicians are subject to DOT drug testing as safety-sensitive employees.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants should have 5 years of experience working with automotive, diesel, electric, or CNG vehicles, a valid driver's license, and a willingness to obtain a CDL. A mechanic's tool set is also required.
