Job Description

The Range/Cart Attendant will be required to work outside in the elements and will be exposed to the weather, pollen, dust and insects. They will also be required to help reinforce the program and facility rules on the driving range and golf course. Knowledge of golf is helpful but not required. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WITHOUT HEADPHONES/EARBUDS. NOT EASILY DISTRACTED BY CELL PHONE. This is a great job for a hardworker who loves outdoors.
Essential Functions
In addition to the areas highlighted in the overall job description; the individual will be responsible for the following specific duties in the five major areas of the organization’s operation:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Help reinforce the program and facility rules on the driving range and golf course.
- Picking up golf balls by hand or driving vehicle equipped with trailer that automatically picks up balls as vehicle moves over the range
- Monitoring customers on the Driving Range tee and practice greens to maintain safe play conditions.
- Maintaining good customer communication with the pro-shop via the radio/phone and notifying them of problems.
- Observing and complying will all opening protocol and procedures.
- Advising pro-shop of potential areas that may require grounds crew maintenance.
- Maintaining cleanliness of the tee area, practice greens, cart barn, fence line, parking lot, pro-shop flower beds, etc., and assisting maintenance and pro shop staff where appropriate.
- Check water levels and cups at water stations.
- Check water levels in cart batteries.
- Reporting any complaints from customers directly to Pro-Shop and Course Manager.
- In the event of medical emergencies, call for help, assist the injured, and contact the Pro-Shop with information.
- Help Clubhouse staff with deliveries outside services, or other tasks requested by Management.
- Keep the cart barn well maintained and clean.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Subject to pre-employment and annual background check.
- Subject to pre-employment, post-accident, return to duty, follow up and random drug testing.
Qualifications:
- Excellent teamwork, organization, and task prioritization skills
- Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills
- A valid permit or driver’s license is required.
Position Location: First Tee – Augusta, 3165 Damascus Road Augusta, GA 30909
Hours: ~25 Hours/Week, Flexibility to work morning, afternoon and weekend shifts
Salary/Wage: $9.00/hr

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Performs combination of following duties at golf driving range: Picks up golf balls by hand or drives vehicle equipped with trailer that automatically picks up balls as vehicle moves over the range. Starts revolving tumbler filled with soapy water and immerses golf balls to remove dirt, grass stain, and club marks. Removes and rinses washed balls.
Sort and clean donated items and equipment for reissue to students in The First Tee of Augusta golf and life skills program. May perform minor maintenance using ladder and hand tools as well as golf cart maintenance. Driving
Range Staff must have the ability to work well with others, have a valid driver’s license, and be able to operate golf carts and learn to operate the ball picking equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Stand, sit, bend, reach and lift in the performance of their duties.
- Have good vision and coordination required for driving and operating assigned equipment.
- The Range Attendant will be required to work outside in the elements and may be exposed to the weather, pollen, dust and insects.
HOURS: ~15-20 Hrs/wk
TYPICAL SHIFTS: Tuesdays – Fridays 3:00pm – 9:00pm
Weekends 8:30am – 3:30pm or 3:30pm - 9:00pm
WAGE RATE: $9.00/hr
All part-time positions are subject to a 30-day evaluation period.
