About First Tee - West MichiganFirst Tee - West Michigan uses golf and character education to help youth from all backgrounds develop life skills such as integrity, sportsmanship, and leadership. Focused on serving at-risk youth, we aim to empower young people to thrive both on and off the course.
Position OverviewThe Program Intern will report to the Program Coordinator and help expand First Tee programs in the Muskegon area. Responsibilities include coaching 6-class sessions, mentoring youth on the golf course, and supporting additional program needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming: Manage the Play 9 program weekly, oversee equipment inventory at program locations, assist with outreach and networking community events
- Coaching: Lead a minimum of 2 6-week sessions and a minimum of 1 Play 9 group each week
- Administrative: Manage participant data in Salesforce, Play 9 communication with parents, assist with promotional materials and some event planning.
Qualifications
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities. Basic golf knowledge and experience working with youth is preferred.
- Personal Traits: Passion for working with young people, high integrity, patience, flexibility, and attention to detail.
- Technical: Comfortable using databases such as Salesforce, G-Suite, Slack, TextMagic, and HubSpot or a willingness to learn.
