Technician - Inspection/Assembly I
We are pleased to recruit for a company whose corporate purpose is to create chemistry for a sustainable future and has been doing so for 150 years. Their portfolio ranges from chemicals, plastics, performance products and crop protection products to oil and gas. Their products and solutions contribute to conserving resources, ensuring nutrition and improving quality of life. Our client is expanding and seeking a Technician - Inspection/Assembly I in Wyandotte, MI.
Responsibilities:
• Perform visual inspection, minor finishing and basic assembly of small molded parts.
• Accurately record data into plants electronic database systems.
• Frequent interaction with internal customers. No external customer interaction.
• Performs visual inspection of finished parts for attribute defects.
• Perform minor finishing and basic assembly operations.
• Understands fundamental operation of HMI to enter data into LAN database system.
• Problem solves alone, and with others, to resolve equipment problems.
• May use rulers, clippers and other similar small tools to complete assigned inspection/task.
• Reads standard operating instructions to familiarize self with operating and safety procedures.
• Able to wear and utilize all personal protective equipment (PPE) specified by the organization.
• Performs safety and quality check of assigned equipment on a routine basis and actively participates and supports the safety program.
• Supports efficient movement of materials from inspection/assembly lines to staging area for transfer to warehouse.
• Completes equipment changeover operations to ensure safety, quality and productivity are maintained.
Requirements:
• Required to work shift work and perform all duties in a safe, efficient manner.
• Must be capable of lifting 30lbs and have the patience to sit for extended periods of time while performing job tasks.
• Must have a functional knowledge of English, both spoken and written, with basic math skills and experience using measurement tools, i.e.. rulers, gages, ect.
• Hard hat, safety glasses, work gloves, hearing protection, safety shoes/boots, long pants. Equipment/Tools: Basic measurement tools; ruler, gage, ect.. Clippers, scrappers, Allen wrenches and powered hand carts. Interact with HMI and databases.
Must have a valid driver's license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property
Education: Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology or Genetics plus two or more years relevant laboratory experience.

Pay Rate: The pay range for this position is $16.00 – 17.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
Work Schedule: Onsite, Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM ROTATING
