Roles and Responsibilities
- Research the status of materials critical to the production schedule and expedite them into stock.
- Plan and schedule incoming materials to ensure timely availability.
- Manage chemicals from start to finish, including process streamlining upon delivery, proper labeling, and systematic updates using Excel and Costpoint systems.
- Identify, record, and dispose of expired materials.
- Ensure an adequate supply of consumable materials by monitoring inventory levels and expiration dates.
- Interface with supply chain and engineering teams to direct appropriate movement of materials.
- Conduct cost and metrics analysis as needed.
- Track and categorize material metrics, conduct time studies, and create status reports for the material control organization.
- Develop or update functional or operational manuals in accordance with organizational policy.
- Support the logistics function by preparing documentation to establish the range and depth of spares, materials, and related manuals.
- Determine maintenance and repair materials required for deployment and manage records of materials and components.
- Track logistics materials and parts for proper allocation of storage facilities.
- Document equipment and parts conditions, and identify logistic support documentation required for product lifecycle support.
- Provide daily logistic assistance to floor personnel and determine actions to maintain proper inventory levels of Ground Support Equipment.
- Review production schedules and coordinate logistics support to ensure on-time delivery of equipment.
- Inventory all locations of program material and update the database on Costpoint.
- Maintain records of cabinets, racks, and shelves, and facilitate inventory and rotation of Shelf-Life Material.
- Coordinate transportation of materials between various sites and locations.
- Evaluate existing processes and make recommendations for improvements.
