Responsibilities
- Follow a comprehensive curriculum
- Teach beginning reading, penmanship, and math skills, science, and various forms of art to a small class of students
- Assist children with developing social and emotional skills
- Use a range of instructional methods and learning techniques
- Communicate with parents and other school personnel
- Assess student's skills and performance to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones
- A minimum of an Associate of Arts degree is required. The applicant does not need a Florida teacher's certificate
- A good understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
- Problem-solving and mediation skills
