POSITION SUMMARY:

Results-driven and confident Financial Controller to manage and improve our organization's financial performance and direct our accounting operations. Duties for the Financial Controller will include managing accounting records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, publishing financial statements, overseeing accounting operations, analyzing financial data, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, coordinating auditing processes, and ensuring accuracy of financial information.
Your strategic planning and exceptional numerical proficiency as a Financial Controller will aid our organization in maintaining positive revenue and financial growth, formulating sound financial strategies, implementing proper internal controls, achieving organizational targets, and developing financial plans that support organizational strategy.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department.
- Oversees training programs and identifies training needs.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly and annual separate and consolidated financial reports.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost accounting reports/financial statements.
- Maintain and review general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Manage Monthly Bank Reconciliation.
- Manage and classify expense accounts correctly.
- Maintain system of controls over accounting transactions.
- Prepare and manage accounting department structure and appropriate processes and employees.
- AR and AP Support Income tax preparation.
- Executing Safe Way’s financial strategy.
- Developing plans for growth to increase company profit while reducing expenditure.
- Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
- Managing accounting procedures.
- Maintain accountability for and manage the accurate and timely reporting of the financial results for the business, including reconcilement of all balance sheet captions.
- Maintain cost effective internal control by enforcing corporate and business unit policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. Implement external and internal audit recommendations.
- Responsible for cost accounting and profitability analysis including the accurate valuation and reconciliation of inventory accounts to perpetual records and management of the annual physical inventory. Understand and control the cost structure of the business unit.
- Provide clear and concise analysis of financial results and key financial measurements driving the business' results. Develop additional analyses, reporting tools and mechanisms as necessary to support the business and decision-making processes.
- Prepare and present accurate and reliable monthly estimates and forecasts / budget to business unit and corporate management.
- Provide the key financial input and leadership on strategic business decisions including potential acquisitions, capital investments and new product projects. Provide interpretation of analyses and key input into monthly sales, operations, and planning meetings.
- Plans for and uses resources efficiently, always looks for ways to reduce costs, creates accurate and realistic budgets, tracks and adjusts budgets, contributes to budget planning.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6 years’ experience in accounting, construction, manufacturing, or have other cost accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong understanding of financial management

- Understanding of advanced accounting and regulatory issues
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
