Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching and be committed to creating an engaging, supportive, and effective classroom environment. This part-time role requires teaching ESL classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a focus on improving students' speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Fluency in Spanish or languages other than English is not required.
Responsibilities:
- Teach English language classes for adult learners at various proficiency levels
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that meet the needs of diverse learners
- Provide engaging, interactive lessons that foster student participation and language
acquisition
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to help students improve their skills
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning
- Communicate regularly with students regarding class expectations, assignments, and any
concerns
Qualifications:
- Experience with lesson planning, assessment, and student feedback
- Ability to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Fluent in English
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with learners from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
- Open to candidates enrolled in a teacher certification program
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Linguistics, English, or a related field is preferred
