Job Summary:
The Custodian cleans and maintains physical church properties, to enable safe, effective use of church facilities for the mission of the church.
Essential Functions / Position Tasks:
Follow daily cleaning list, which is the largest portion of this position. Daily and weekly cleaning; monthly cleaning; and irregular cleaning. Church vehicle maintenance check and periodic cleaning.
Ministry Set Up and Communication about Building Needs:
With Senior Pastor, office and program staff and the Trustees Committee: Prepare rooms and facility for all building users – cleanliness, thermostats, required supplies, tables and chairs – and reset following usage. Stock & monitor supplies and equipment, and coordinate necessary orders with staff. Monitor facility needs and communicate to Senior Pastor, Fix-It Crew, and Trustees.
Lawn and Snow (seasonal):
Remove snow and/or ice and apply salt as necessary. Monitor lawn sprinkler system. Work with the mowing teams to ensure lawn care.
Maintenance:
Perform minor repairs of physical properties and determine if any repairs/service require a service call. Contact, coordinate, oversee, and report on service providers (plumbers, electricians, cleaners, roofers, HVAC, etc.) when the need arises in consultation with the Senior Pastor.
Facility Hospitality:
Part of the team who sees to unlocking and locking for user groups, ministries, etc. Maintain cleanliness before and after groups and ministries. Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor
Qualifications:
- Safe-Gatherings Certification
- Pass Nebraska State Patrol background check
- Ability to clean all areas of a building with excellence, following the cleaning checklist with integrity
- Ability to learn, or knowledge of, general facility maintenance (such as electrical, plumbing, and painting)
- Ability to judge if repairs/maintenance can be completed by staff, or the need to contact professionals

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
