General Work
The Custodian is a full-time non-exempt position, working approximately 40 hours per week. The Custodian will maintain the church facilities in a clean and orderly condition, keep the church in good operational condition, and will set up for events held in the church facilities. Responsibilities include the general appearance, maintenance and security of the Church. The Custodian must be capable of bending and stooping, able to lift 40 pounds, and must be dependable, courteous and respectful. The Custodian must be observant, able to follow instructions and work independently; and have flexibility to adjust the work schedule at times to the needs of the church. Must be at least 18 years old and pass background check. Apply in person Monday-Friday between 9-4 at 400 N Fredonia, Longview. Must bring ID to apply.
Specific Work Responsibilities:
- Maintaining clean church facilities by performing weekly duties and daily spot cleaning in all public areas of the building, including bathrooms, sanctuary, kitchens, fellowship hall and meeting rooms
- Cleaning duties may include but not limited to sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing, emptying wastebaskets
- Working with other maintenance team members and church staff to ensure that all areas are cleaned and stocked with necessary supplies
- Observing proper chemical handling procedures when working with cleaning agents, including wearing gloves, goggles, or masks and following written or verbal instructions
- Performing minor building maintenance or coordination with contractors
- Assisting with event preparations, set up, clean up, including the arranging of tables and chairs
- Interacting with church staff and visitors in a respectful, positive manner
- Unlocking and locking the facilities for services and events
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
