What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pianist/Accompanist position at First United Methodist Church?
About us
Provides musical support for worship services and rehearsals including special services (Christmas, Easter...).
Collaborate with the Choir Director and Pastor to plan and execute musical elements of worship services.
Ensure that all church musical instruments, including pianos and organs, are maintained in coordination with the Music Minister.
Participate in staff meetings and other planning sessions as requested by the Senior Pastor or Music Minister.
Arrange for a substitute accompanist when unavailable in conjunction with the director and pastor, with advance notice provided to the church office and Pastor.
Exhibit professionalism, punctuality, and reliability in fulfilling all duties.
Serve as a positive and encouraging presence within the church and community, using music to inspire and uplift.
Strong sight-reading and accompanying skills.
Proficiency in a variety of musical styles, including traditional hymns, contemporary Christian music, and choral accompaniments.
Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team setting.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 – 5 per week
