About the Role
As an Asset Recovery Manager, you will manage and review the recovery of distressed assets, including commercial and real estate loans. You'll assess repayment strategies, analyze recovery opportunities, and implement solutions to minimize financial loss. By working closely with clients, attorneys, and internal teams, you'll guide the restructuring of credit and repayment terms to ensure that appropriate workout arrangements are secured.
Your focus will be on identifying effective collection strategies, conducting site inspections, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you'll contribute to the development and maintenance of sound credit policies and oversee the foreclosure sale process and post-judgment collection activities.

What You'll Do
- Analyze and assess assigned problem loans, determining the most effective method for maximizing financial recovery.
- Develop and recommend collection strategies for problem loans and communicate these strategies to relevant stakeholders.
- Negotiate forbearance, settlement agreements, and loan restructurings with clients, attorneys, and internal teams to secure appropriate workout arrangements.
- Issue default and demand letters, monitor compliance with workout terms, and initiate collection activities as needed.
- Conduct site inspections of collateral, manage the disposition process, and ensure proper protection of assets.
- Manage the foreclosure sale process and administer bank-owned property, including coordinating maintenance and insurance coverage.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field required
- Advanced degree in JD, MBA, or relevant certifications (CFA, CPA, CFE, Paralegal) preferred
- 5–7 years of experience in consumer and commercial loan workout, collection, and recovery
- Strong credit analysis, loan accounting knowledge, and familiarity with workout/liquidation policies
- Deep understanding of legal documentation, bankruptcy processes, and post-judgment collection
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Accurate keyboarding and strong Microsoft skills
- Resolves complex problems through analysis and judgment; develops short- to mid-term strategies impacting business results
- Competitive base salary: $121,000 – $194,000, plus strong bonus potential.
