Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Transports various materials to/from the work area such as trash dumpsters, and transports items within the work area such as skids, bales of paper, cardboard, plastic, etc.
2. Loads/empties material (cardboard, paper, plastic, scrap, trash, waste, paint booth cups, hangers, air filter molds) into the appropriate equipment.
3. Operates and observes various types of equipment within his/her facility (baler, trash compactor, and other machines related to this role) to facilitate the handling of materials, dispose of scrap/trash, prepare waste for transportation. 4. Supporting Pallet Repair by separating and stacking skids according to quality, size and type (separates useable skids and returns them for reuse, returns paper and steel skids to manufacturer, bands useless skids together and marks for scrap, etc.).
5. Polices work area picking up and disposing of trash, scrap, etc., and performs general housekeeping tasks.
6. Watering of the MHE Batteries and ensuring they are fully charged.
7. Supporting OPS Team if shorthanded.
REQUIREMENTS:
❖ Education:
o High School Diploma or equivalent.
❖ Communication:
o Communicate with appropriate personnel about problems encountered while performing job duties.
o In-person interaction with co-workers’ supervisor.
❖ Learning/Reading/Mathematical Comprehension:
o Perform basic math functions such as addition and subtraction.
o Learn and comprehend standard operating procedures of equipment.
o Basic reading and writing skills.
❖ Visual Requirements:
o Monitor operations of various pieces of equipment, such as baler, waste compactor and any other machines related to role.
o Distinguish type, size and weight of scrap material, etc.
❖ Motor Skills:
o Stand or walk throughout shift.
o Continually push/pull and reach with hands and arms.
o Continual bending and lifting, at times up to 50 lbs.
❖ Environment:
o Work in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, possible temperature extremes, dirt, solvents, paper dust, etc.
❖ PIT: Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment as required by Powered Industrial Equipment Program to acquire and maintain license.
❖ Dependability: Maintain satisfactory record of attendance and conduct. Work 1st shift and overtime as required
