POSITION OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking an experienced Delivery Driver to join the fast-growing Starr Electrical team. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, work well in a team environment, have a high level of customer service and have strong attention to detail.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare equipment and materials for transport to job sites utilizing company vehicle with trailer and staging for technicians
- Shipping and receive parts, equipment, and supplies for scheduled jobs
- Load and unload products in truck utilizing forklift and/or hand truck
- File bills of lading, equipment packing slips, etc. for inventory reconciliation and audit purposes
- Inspect and sign out parts and equipment to technicians, ensuring that technicians maintain appropriate equipment to properly perform required tasks.
- File freight claims for damaged goods
- Identify excess and obsolete inventory and maintain system inventory accuracy
- Verify all items received match items ordered for accuracy
- Stock service vehicles, as instructed, to ensure that required parts remain on-hand
- Assist management with inventory counts
- Maintain warehouse and forklift by following required maintenance, housekeeping, and safety procedures
- Keep warehouse area and parking lot area clean and orderly/neat.
- Drive forklift safely
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Continual learning and development in the body of knowledge through FirstCall Academy, to ensure we set the bar for skill level in the industry
- Elite level of customer service, to ensure we continue to be the FirstCall our customers make for their HVAC & Refrigeration needs
ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT
This position reports to the local branch leader, and has a responsibility to the entire warehouse and all of our customers.
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
- Must have experience driving a vehicle while pulling trailer
- Minimum 6 months warehouse experience including forklift operation preferred
- Must be able to multi-task and work within daily deadlines
- Must communicate effectively with customers and provide superior service
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.
Environmental Requirements
Will be required to work in a field environment, multiple customer sites on a daily basis.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
