POSITION OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking an experienced Journeyman Plumber to join the fast-growing FirstCall Mechanical Team. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, work well in a team environment, have a high level of customer service and have strong attention to detail. A plumber is responsible for installing and repairing water systems in commercial customer buildings. Duties include performing routine maintenance of plumbing systems, responding to call, and installing plumbing systems. Other general tasks include measuring, cutting, bending pipe material and installing and maintaining water systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble, install, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, ad fixtures of heating, water, drainage, and sprinkler systems according to specifications and plumbing codes (IPC)
- Determine sources of plumbing concerns as indicated or according to work orders
- Locate and mark positioned for connections and fixtures
- Install pipes, fitting, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, to include trim such as sinks, commodes, water heaters, water softeners, boilers
- Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures, and equipment
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks and waste and drainage systems
- Plan and install plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment and controls, test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks
- Advise on material and hardware used
- Maintain inventory of company-owned tools, equipment, and materials
- Inspect and ensure areas are always clean
- Work with building foreman, principals, and supervisors to complete projects
- Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection procedures
- Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc.
- Ability to teach and train subordinates

ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT
This position reports to the local plumbing service manager and has a responsibility to the entire plumbing team.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 5 years of experience as a Commercial Journeyman Plumber
- Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship or another type of formal plumbing training
- Ability to use a wide variety of plumbing tools and techniques
- All state and federal-mandated license required to practice
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Follow oral and written instructions
- Work cooperatively with others
- Willingness to respond to emergency plumbing situations at odd hours

Environmental Requirements
Will be required to work in a field environment, and multiple customer sites on a daily basis.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands to operate the computer keyboard with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
