POSITION OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking a Commercial Refrigeration Technician II to join our fast-growing team. This ideal candidate will be responsible for equipment maintenance and service work, responsible for inspecting, maintaining, installing and repairing commercial and industrial type air conditioning, refrigeration and heating systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose causes of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning systems, refrigeration systems and food service equipment, for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs
- Service commercial refrigeration equipment and systems to include walk-in coolers, freezers, small self-contained equipment, reach-ins, etc.
- Inspect systems and their components (e.g. air conditioning, heating and refrigeration units, etc.) to ensure safety and identify necessary repairs and provide an ongoing program of preventive maintenance
- Communicates with customers regarding status of repair or maintenance being performed or needed on equipment
- Order and install replacement parts as needed
- Must be able to install, repair, adjust, maintain and troubleshoot commercial equipment including refrigerant controls (metering devices); compressors; Split systems from 2 to 4 tons, electric motor controls (contractors, starters, relays, disconnect, thermostats, etc.)
- Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and procedures for all food service and refrigeration equipment, including changing filters and cleaning condensers and coils
- Perform electrical and mechanical inspection and maintenance on equipment to ensure peak performance
- Perform specific preventative maintenance including belt adjustments, oiling, greasing and cleaning of equipment
- Use experience and technical skills with preventive maintenance and system operations to determine service requirements
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings in reference to layout, location and operation of the system(s)
- Work in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Submit required paperwork to Service Coordinator/Dispatcher in a timely manner
- Must work in a safe manner on a daily basis and ensure that all safety measures are taken at all times
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Flexibility to work overtime/ weekends, as required

ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT
This position will report to the service manager and has the responsibility to the entire service team and all of our customers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate, or learn to operate, all necessary tools and equipment
- 5-7 years of experience and knowledge in repairs of commercial restaurant equipment plus commercial HVAC Setting
- Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Sufficient physical agility to work in awkward places and from ladders or scaffolding as required by particular jobs
- Physical ability to endure high and low outside temperatures
- Valid driver's license
- Active EPA Universal Certificate
- Active CFC Certificate

Environmental Requirements

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
