POSITION OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Shop Foreman to join the fast-growing R&W Mechanical Team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Vulcan plasma cutting machines is responsible for executing sheet metal fabrication. This process utilizes the use of plasma cutting technology. This role involves interpreting blueprints, operating and maintaining plasma cutting machines, as well as various other sheet metal equipment. Produce high quality sheet metal ductwork in a timely fashion.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES
- Operate and program plasma cutting machines to cut, shape, and fabricate sheet metal components according to project specifications.
- Ensure the efficient and accurate use of plasma technology in the fabrication process.
- Fabricate and assemble materials for HVAC duct work, measure materials for ductwork fabrication, and cut, bend, and roll sheet metal
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, Installer drawings produced from field measurements, blueprints, and specifications to understand project requirements
- Translate technical drawings into precise and accurate sheet metal fabrication processes
- Prepare materials for fabrication by measuring, cutting, and shaping them based on project needs
- Collaborate with the design team to optimize material usage and minimize waste
- Conduct inspections of fabricated components to ensure they meet quality standards and project specifications
- Make adjustments as needed to maintain precision and accuracy
- Perform routine maintenance on plasma cutting machines, other sheet metal fabrication equipment.
- Work closely with team members, including engineers and other fabricators, to achieve project goals
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment for all team members
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, work performed, and any modifications made during the fabrication process

ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT
This position reports to the local branch leader, and has a responsibility to the entire service team and all of our customers.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in metal fabrication is a plus
- Proven experience as a fabricator, with specific expertise in operating plasma cutting machines
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Follow oral and written instructions
- Work cooperatively with others
- Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed
- Ability to frequently lift up to 75 pounds and ability to lift and regularly carry items weighing up to 50 pounds

Environmental Requirements
Will be required to work in a field environment, multiple customer sites on a daily basis.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
