We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our fast-growing FirstCall Team. The ideal candidate is responsible for managing accounting and financial activities for assigned companies. The duties include producing financial statements, forecasting future results, and directing accounting and other administrative staff.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
This position reports to the Regional Controller.
Qualifications
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem-solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.

The ideal candidate is responsible for managing accounting and financial activities for assigned companies. The duties include producing financial statements, forecasting future results, and directing accounting and other administrative staff.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in monthly financial close, including journal entries for month-end close, general ledger reconciliations, review, variance analysis, and preparing and consolidating accurate financial statements and reports.
- Assisting with the development and evaluation of annual profit plan and preparing plan reports as well as the monthly forecasting and variance to plan and forecast analysis.
- Compiles, reviews, analyzes, and submits timely and accurate monthly reporting; these may include: pro-forma projections; income/expense or cash flow forecasts, variance analysis and explanations for financial statement line items; or summaries, charts and graphs of data to highlight key results.
- Supporting the formulation and implementation of control systems within the organization and ensuring strict compliance with company policies and procedures as well as regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with internal and external audits and examinations.
- Following changes in regulations and compiling reports regarding compliance issues, standards, and accounting practices.
- Maintains a strong working relationship with the supported business area to complete tasks and deliver high-quality work.
- Takes a new perspective on existing solutions to propose innovative solutions

Qualifications
- Degree in accounting, finance, or in a related field
- 5 years of progressive experience in accounting positions
- External audit experience a plus
- Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus
- Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Office (especially excel) and accounting software, BuildOps preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Strong supervisory and management skills
- Proficient with data analysis, forecasting, critical thinking and problem-solving
