- Run diagnostic tests on diesel trucks and equipment and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions
- Inspect vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts
- Repair or replace vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines and other associated parts
- Conduct field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown
- Test drive repaired vehicles to gauge their performance
- Complete oil changes, periodic maintenance on truck equipment and brake checks
- Maintain records of all serviced trucks and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized shop
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Experience with diesel/construction equipment
- Able to work inside or outside
- Must have a basic set of tools - (we can provide any advanced tools needed for the job)
- Must be willing to get their fleet inspection license
- CDL license is preferred but not required
- NYS heavy truck inspection license is highly desired, but not required
- Knowledge of diagnostic tools and equipment a must
- High school diploma/GED required
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift 50lbs and be on your feet all day
