Clinical Coding Specialist II
Thoroughly reviews the entire Inpatient medical record to specifically and accurately code diagnoses and procedures that were treated or affected patient’s plan of care. Verifies records, contain appropriate documentation to comply with required coding and billing standards. Must consistently code all assigned specialties, including complex admissions independently and within required standards.
Qualifications
Health Information Technology degree or similar degree including college level medical terminology and Anatomy and Physiology required.
- CCS credential required; RHIT or RHIA preferred.
- 2 years coding experience in hospital setting (at least 1 year inpatient)
- Must consistently meet or exceed standards of Clinical Coding Specialist I and/or score minimum of 90% on competency assessment
